This post is late. Late by 10 days, but it’s important none the less.

As you can surmise from the headline – this is a post about looking forward, looking into the world ahead, the wild blue yonder if you will. 2016 was an interesting year for us (Saiko+) and the world as a whole.

While the world turns inward against the continuing beat of globalization, things are as uncertain as ever. However, one thing is a constant for you, our intrepid reader, Saiko + remains dedicated to bringing you the best of fandom. The Saiko+ content team remains committed to bringing you great articles for you to delve into.

Looking back into this past year, we’ve covered everything from the latest in gaming, anime, manga, and geek culture. Going through our analytics and into what our readers liked best, we can see that Saiko+ readers really enjoyed reading about Forbidden LoveHigh School of the Dead, Anime that was cancelled before its prime, and interesting Japanese phrases.

These articles, written by our own Annabel, Lester, Maiza and Norlyn are just the tip of the iceberg. In my previous introduction letter, I called out that changes will be happening to our site. We aim to be more poignant and more focused and to do that, we will be doing the following:

  1. Our writers will be producing content based on a set focus – think of it all as newsbeats. In any major news organization – in addition to the general purpose and breaking news, writers tend to specialize in a subject. We’re letting our writers put in more of what they want to write.
  2. Our coverage will be focused clearly on Manga/Anime, Gaming, News, and Culture – of course this doesn’t mean we’ll lack some general silliness
  3. Systematically add and remove topics based on reader feedback
  4. We will be adding you into our story – in addition to 3, listening to feedback, we will do something similar to what we’ve done in our App and pull the best user content to our front pages.

Now, all of this takes time, and so I’m reluctant to give you any hard dates at this junction.

As we look forward in 2017, there is so much to do and so much potential. So once again, to our readers, I’d like to thank you for being with us on this incredible journey and I look forward to seeing where we all go as we venture into the new year.

Best regards,
Eric

P.S. – I leave you all with this song.
